Podcasting
ONU Podcasts are free, online broadcasts of weekly chapel services
and other ONU events. By downloading these inspiring and
thought-provoking services, you can - along with the Olivet
community - be challenged by some of the country's finest
speakers any day of the week.
What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a method of publishing audio programs using the
Internet. Users can subscribe to a feed of new files (typically MP3
files).
Periodically, Olivet Nazarene University produces MP3 formatted audio
files. Using a program like Apple's iTunes, users can subscribe,
download, and listen or transfer the files to a portable audio player,
like an iPod.
The downloaded MP3 files can be played anytime, anywhere: at the gym,
while walking, driving, or anywhere else you can bring your audio
player with you.
What equipment do you need?
The basic requirements for Podcasting are a computer, Podcasting
software (iTunes is currently the most popular) and an Internet
connection.
To carry the file with you, you'll need a portable audio player. For
Apple iPod you'll need to use iTunes.
How do you get started?
Download and install Podcasting software onto your computer.
ONU recommends iTunes. If you don't own an iPod or portable audio
player you can still listen to podcasts via iTunes.
